Dr. Paul Dean is Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). After completing veterinary school he completed a three-year surgical residency, which included specific training, caseloads and research followed by rigorous testing administered by ACVS. This commitment to surgical excellence enables him to be called a surgical specialist.
Dr. Paul W. Dean, Owner
After receiving his DVM from Texas A&M University in 1981, Dr. Dean completed a one-year internship and a three-year surgery residency-training program at The Ohio State University under the supervision of ACVS Diplomats. Dr. Dean also completed a Masters in Veterinary Clinical Science during his tenure at Ohio State. His surgical training and residency includes all domestic animal species. In fact, he even has experience with zoo animal medicine as a result of primary and referred surgery from the Columbus Zoo. Following Board Certification, Dr. Dean taught and performed surgery at Texas A&M University for four years before establishing his own surgical referral hospital in 1990. This commitment to training after veterinary school and successful completion of Board Certification in 1986 qualifies him as a specialist in veterinary surgery. Dr. Dean enjoys flying radio controlled (RC) airplanes and serving at his local church, where he and Gayle are involved in various ministries including discipleship, evangelism and missions. They have two daughters, Michelle and Rachel.
Gayle Dean, Practice Manager
A 1979 Graduate of Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Advertising & Public Relations, Gayle says she was born with “purple blood”. Her Grandfather, both parents, and two sisters attended T.C.U. and her father John M. Grimland served on T.C.U.’s Board of Trustees.
She has worked with husband Paul in his veterinary practice for over 25 years. Gayle is making up for a childhood WITHOUT pets. She not only works with pets in the day, but also owns with her family a diverse set of animals including two cats, two black labs, a retired reining horse and a donkey. Gayle enjoys seeing people grow in the knowledge of Jesus, photography, and being a “horse show mom”.
Candy Langford, Surgical Assistant
A native of SLPC, Mexico Candy Langford has served as Dr. Dean’s surgical assistant for 25 years. She is his second set of hands and eyes and is more like family to the Deans than an employee. Her strong work ethic, dedication to the patients and gentle nature are her strengths. After hours she enjoys spending time with husband, Patrick of 22 years, daughter Valerie, son Nowlin and her extended family. Candy and her family have a cat named Blues and a bird by the name of Sunny.
Cindi Leanos, Medical Assistant
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Cindi Leanos’ professionalism and attention to detail make her an asset to the practice and owners alike. Prior to joining Fort Worth Veterinary Surgical in 2012, Cindi worked at a medical transcription company. Cindi previously bred and raised French Bulldogs, but is currently without any pets of her own. In her spare time Cindi enjoys doing crafts with her daughter.
Bailey Campbell, Client Care Coordinator
The sweet voice you hear when you call our office is Bailey Campbell. She has worked at North Texas veterinary hospitals since 2013 and finds her work rewarding and challenging. She is passionate about learning new things and enjoys reading, as well as walking her two dogs and playing with her two cats.
Stephanie McLaughlin Client Care Coordinator
Stephanie McLaughlin has worked in operations and management at local human as well as veterinary hospitals for over 27 years, She calls veterinary care “pediatrics with fur “and finds helping owners communicate for their pets gratifying. A graduate of the Culinary School of Fort Worth, Stephanie developed all natural dog treats and ice cream, which were sold at a local bakery and farmers market. Besides cooking, Stephanie enjoys cricuting crafts, RV camping and hanging out with her fur babies, Teddy and Penny Layne.
Anna Rodriguez, Veterinary Technician
Prior to joining our team, Anna worked as a kennel technician for a neighboring veterinary hospital. She is a quick learner and enjoys the contact she has with owners as well as patients at Fort Worth Veterinary Surgical. After work, Anna enjoys photography and playing with her dog Bentley and son.
Hailey Richardson, Kennel Technician
The newest member of our team, Hailey is a quick learner and hard worker. She recently graduated from High School and plans to attend Junior College in the fall pursuing an associate degree in Veterinary Technology.
